15 Years ago this month!

It was 15 years ago this month that our first son was born.  Nancy and I were surprised when our son arrived two weeks early.  We couldn't be prouder of what our son is becoming.

Only now, when I see you laugh and talk about your dreams, do I realize how much of a man you have already become. Much of your personality and your character is set. You may have a few years left of high school and college, you’ll learn about friendship, love, and responsibility but the person you’ll one day become when you have children is already — you.

And your mother and I are so proud of what we see and so optimistic about your future.

You have always had such a great sense of humor. You love to crack jokes. You love to laugh and to make others laugh. Your mom tells me that your sarcasm gene must come from her side of the family, but we kn…

InFocus exiting digital projector business

Posted on October 30, 2019 by David Brodosi
WAIT WHAT??? As someone in the AV/IT higher education world for over 25 years, this is so hard to believe!  Going back to when InFocus purchased ASK Proxima, I have been a big fan of InFocus and their projectors.  At one point in my career, I attempted to try another manufacturer, but after three years and a 90% failure rate, I ended up reinstalling the older InFocus projectors we replaced. This is a very sad day, very sad!

Extron's new NBP 1200C Network Button Panel
Anyone who knows me, knows I'm I a big fan of Extron technology. I have two full-time staff members who oversee 90 academic spaces (classrooms, auditoriums, and conference rooms).  We are able to do this because of Extron's robust hardware and easy programming interface.
When we purchase technology to rehab a building, we always purchase two or three spare pieces of technology. This way if we should have an issue, we can swap out the tech and send back to Extron or repair. The great thing is, when the item is outside of the warranty period, it only costs around $250 to have them refurb the unit.  This is pennies on the dollar for what we paid for the technology.  This allows my institution to push technology infrastructure beyond the five-year mark. We just replace data projectors.

If you ever have any questions about Extron technology for the classroom, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  I'm happy to share my 15 …
